Founder & CEO
Gale co-founded Fitness Formula Clubs in 1984 and today is the sole owner of the
parent company. Today FFC is a Chicagoland hub-and-spoke network of 10 upscale,
urban lifestyle full-service fitness clubs. The FFC sweet spot is 50,000 – 70,000 sf that
incorporate health, wellness, sports, fitness, and spa centers. Gale has strategically
located, designed, and developed ultra-convenient urban and residential clubs in high
employment-based markets with free parking, creating a unique value proposition with a
high percentage of members using multiple locations.

He was selected Chairman of the National Health & Fitness Alliance (NHFA) in 2021.
With support from the NHFA council members, he led the fitness industry attempt for
direct industry financial relief and worked to secure House Congressman Mike Quigley
(D-IL) and Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) to be the respective congressional lead
sponsors of the GYMS Act.

Gale and the NHFA are currently seeking legislative support for the Personal Health
Investment Today (PHIT) Act which would allow over 100 million Americans to pay for
sports leagues, fitness equipment, programs, and memberships from Flexible Spending
Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

He was inducted into the Chicago Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame in 2004. In 2019 he
and his college baseball teammates were inducted into the Western Illinois University
Sports Hall of Fame where he earned his degree in Accountancy. He currently serves
as a Board Member of the Chicago Sports Commission and a Board Member of the 11-
10-02 Foundation, a non-profit that funds scholarships and grants for students with
financial need. He is a founding Board Member of the Illinois Fitness Alliance and a
past President of the Board of Directors of IHRSA.

Gale is an avid snow skier and resides in the Gold Coast community of Chicago.
